It's Monday morning. It's overcast, the wind is howling, and the forecast for this afternoon/evening is 6 to 8 inches of snow. "Sugar Snow" ... it's not that surprising to most Mainers, but still not fun to drive in, either!
Noah Finnegan Bergeron, born on March 18, is our first grandson, and our second grandchild. His parents are Joe and Amy Bergeron, of Farmington. We are all very excited and happy to welcome him into the world. Thanks for all the messages you've sent.
According to local information and the activity we've seen there in recent days, Ray and Vi Bernier's home on Back Street has been sold.
Have you read Louise Dickinson Rich's rendition of a town meeting in Upton in chapter X of her book "We Took To The Woods"? It's entertaining, at the very least. Having known some of the characters she mentioned, I think it could be a factual accounting, albeit the procedures she describes are a far cry from town meetings as we know them nowadays. This year's town meeting will be March 31 at the schoolhouse and will begin at 7 p.m.
The Ladies Aid Association is still offering breakfasts every Sunday morning from 8 until 11.
