Fall promises to change colors soon as the trees drop their leaves and the rain gives way to cold, white flakes. I for one am willing to wait a little while longer, but I do not believe I get a vote in this; or even a consensus opinion. So change will come and soon. For now, we have been basking in the sun and warmth with intermittent rain showers.
Sadness has come to our neighborhood once again as we lose our store and restaurant -- Pop’s. You will be missed. Good luck to you and I sincerely hope all goes well with you.
Tonight, the 18th, there will be a community supper at the Wilkins House in Waterford Flats. All are welcome. Bring a dish to share, some neighbors and a sense of fun and enjoy the night.
The 18th at 10 a.m. at Waterford Library the ACA group will meet. We will not meet on the 25th -- Thanksgiving.
Being stay-at-homers, we did manage to attend the firefighters fundraising supper. As usual the food was great. The crowd was a bit diminished because of competition, but hopefully they did well. We got to see friends and neighbors we seldom see. That alone would have made the trip worthwhile.
Next week, the 25th, is Thanksgiving. I am sure that your paper will be early -- Wednesday probably -- and deadline will be earlier, too. Call the paper if you have questions.
Once again I missed the knitting group. I did not get out of my meeting in time. One of these days I will make it.
Sunday, Oct. 24, Fare Share Market Coop held their annual meeting. Three new Board members were elected -- Debby Berry from Poland; Julia Harrison from Otisfield and Marty Elkin. That rounds out the board to a full nine members. Welcome.
I have to apologize. While the heat was being hooked up, my study was destroyed and all my notes are missing. I’ll probably find them tomorrow morning after it is too late.
Anyone who has any news can reach me at 739-9115. For now have a great week and prefer for next week which is turkey week.
