Waterford

By Rockie Graham

June has come and the frosts should be over for now. We are planting plants that we started in the greenhouse. We still need to replace perennials as soon as we have soil. Somehow when the cellar was dug we lost soil and gained a yard full of sand. Now we have to add loam, manure and compost and begin to recreate a healthy garden soil.

The house slowly nears to end. We are staying in the cellar to be closer to home. It is quieter and not as hot. The air quality is actually better. The flooring is getting laid and so is the bathroom tile. We are very indebted to all who have helped on this project.

Happy Birthday goes out to son-in-law Jeff Burkett.

Happy Anniversary goes out to daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Josh West. Congratulations!

Sunday, June 13, Poets on the Porch will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fare Share Commons. All poets and poetry lovers are invited. Come and enjoy poetry and discuss the upcoming Poets on the Porch on July 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. outside Norway Library.

I write this on a laptop and hope it can make it to print. Have a great week.
