Waterford
It is mid-July and the weather is hot, hazy and humid; not to mention huge rainstorms with flash floods. Our new cellar has flooded twice and now we find that the guys who poured the concrete messed up big time. The floor is uneven and the drains are not put in properly, or at least they are not working properly. Sunday we had three to four inches of water on the floor!
I missed the Norway Arts Festival because of the rain. Given that it was raining so hard here, I didn’t want to drive to Norway on the chance that I could find a parking place not too far from where I wanted top be. I definitely do not want to walk far in that rain. Guess I am just a “whoosee”these days. In any case, I stayed home in the dry and missed all the fun in the rain.
This weekend, July 16-18, is the Waterford World’s Fair. It has everything, a midway, rides, food, exhibits, etc. There is even entertainment nights and a senior citizens' lunch.
Also in Waterford on July 20 at Papoose Pond Campground, beano is from 7:30 p.m. The money made goes to Stoneham Rescue.
Breakfasts are up and running on Wednesdays at the Wilkins House from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Good food and good company for a good cause.
Mollyockett Day in its new two-day festival is July 17 and 18 in Bethel. There is a parade, Entrance is free and it is good family fun..
Friends Jim and Claire are up for a visit. Dave has known them since high school.
Last night, Monday, Dave finally caught one of the critters that has been eating our chickens. It was a big old raccoon. I still think there is also a weasel eating them, but we shall see. I’ll know if no more chickens are killed tonight.
That is all for this week. Enjoy the summer fun and be careful.
