Waterford July 22

July is quickly moving to an end. Before we know it it will be the dog days

of August. In the meantime, I’d say it is the dog days of July. This has

been the hottest July since the '90s. I remember one year when it went over

100 degrees. Some years, we pitched a tent out back and slept there to avoid

the heat. Lately, outside at night has even been too hot. That is why we

have AC. As much as I hate it, it keeps me breathing. Soon enough it will

be colder out. We hope that when we put the new house to the test, it will

be warm and cozy. For now I try and beat the heat. We drink a large amount

of water. The boys drink a lot of soda. We all try to stay hydrated.

We are not sure why, but we have found the new house hard to keep clean. We

are anxious to pull up all the cardboard and see what we need to keep out

the dust and dirt. It may be that, but for now, it seems we have to vacuum

every day. Maybe it is the sand from the road; maybe it is the sand from the

driveway. We shall see. For now, we clean every day, and that is OK.

I need to try and find a good swimming hole where I can swim easily and get

Dave to come. He hasn’t wanted to swim this year and I am not sure why.

Maybe we need a warm lake. In any case, we need to go soon.

Having had all there yearly events, the rest of July seems to flow more easily. August will be the next big month for special events.
