Warmer weather for a few days anyway. The neighbors have mowed their lawn twice already. All of the bright, sunny, yellow flowers have been deadheaded and are now preparing the bulbs for next spring. A large snake has been seen beside my barn. I hope he doesn’t appear and startle me. They are good to catch mice, I am told.

On May 23 new members will be welcomed at the West Paris Universalist Church. Those that wish to join should contact the minister, The Rev. Richard Beal.

A community potluck supper will be held on Friday, May 21, at the church at 6 p.m. All are wel-come. Bring a dish to share.

The annual rhubarb pie sale and rummage sale will be held on Saturday,, May 22,, at the church in Goodwill Hall from 9 a.m. to noon.

Peg and Joe Perham and Eleanor and Milton Inman spent the week at Rangeley enjoying the spring weather and the green scenery with new leaves and early wildflowers.

Ruth Hazelton flew to Baltimore, Md., on Sunday to visit her granddaughter, Melissa,, and hus-band and great-granddaughter, Taylor. Taylor is celebrating her second birthday and Ruth is de-lighted to be with her on this occasion. Maxine Cram is “baby sitting” Ruth's parakeet, Trieksy. She has music all day and even enjoys the talking.

Cookies got stale on me so I have been feeding the birds and the half-grown gray squirrel under the maple tree where Muffin can watch them. That does give her a little excitement.
